Saturday

As a native Texan, I'd just like to say that IT'S HOT AS HAIL YALL! It's gotten to the point where all I want to do is hide inside with the comfort of the air conditioner. The only time you can actually enjoy being outside is in the evening when it begins to cool down and that is exactly what we did on Saturday. We got to the beach just in time to enjoy the sunset and left once it got too dark to see anything.

So let's talk about my swimsuit. It's my favorite! I like it so much that I have it in two different colors, black and red. You can't see the whole thing on me because I'm shy, but the top is the best part anyway. It even looks cute worn as a top. Just throw on a skirt or shorts and you have yourself an outfit perfect for summer! I bought it online from Walmart, can you believe it?! They sell the exact same retro style swimsuit on other websites, like ModCloth.com, for wayyyyy more, but the one from Walmart is just as cute, is good quality, and only a fraction of the price. FYI, it comes in several different colors AND it's on sale right now. Just click the link below.

365 Project: June

Whew! June flew by in the blink of an eye! My last week of June was spent  along the coast of California with my love and it has been the best vacation I've ever taken thus far. Looking at the pictures really makes me wish I was still there, but the fun is over and now it's time to get back to real life and start looking for a job *sigh*. I'll probably make another post about our trip with more pictures that weren't posted here or on my Instagram. For now, you can check out the rest of my 365 project from my Flickr account and see my past favorites here.

Got my StickyGrams in the mail and I really like them! Looking forward to getting more.
Bought a new lens for my camera and now it's my new favorite. Haven't taken it off my camera since I got it!
He doesn't like having his picture taken so this is actually the first picture I've ever managed to take of him genuinely smiling and I love it <3
This kitty kinda belongs to everyone that lives in my building and he is such a sweetie
Had fun experimenting with long exposure photography and I can't wait to try it out again. I'm thinking fireworks on 4th of July will be my next venture.
Checked out the new James Turrell exhibit at the fine arts museum. Had fun playing with light and shadows.
One morning we woke up to find another one of the apartment kitties peeking into our living room from outside. Our unit is above a storage unit/garage space so were wondering how it even managed to climb onto our windowsill. He/she was not very happy with me taking its picture!
Did a fun photo shoot with my friend Megan. Isn't she a beaut?!
Crave Cupcakes celebrated their 5th anniversary and were giving away free mini cupcakes! I managed to snag one before they were all gone.
We were going nonstop on our first day in California. In just the first day alone, we managed to see Long Beach, Venice Beach, The Getty Center, Santa Monica, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Rodeo Drive, Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills, and the Hollywood sign up from Mulholland Drive. This is the view of Los Angeles from the Getty Center. It was amazing! I wish we had more time to explore because there is just sooo much to see.
On our second day in California, we visited Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and ended the day by walking on board the Queen Mary! If you are/were ever a Titanic fan then this is a must see because this sister ship is identical to the real Titanic! This was taken as we watched the surfers in Huntington Beach.
We rented a car and took a road trip up to San Francisco on the Pacific Coast Highway. It was the most scenic drive ever! We stopped halfway in Pismo Beach to take a break from driving. It was so beautiful there!
Of course I had to take a mandatory Golden Gate Bridge picture when we arrived in San Francisco. What a beautiful city!

365 Project: May

May was a really important month for me this year. Three super exciting things happened to me in this order: 1) I turned twenty four 2) I got engaged to my best friend! 3) I finally graduated from college! Sadly, I did not take very good pictures to represent these exciting things, especially #2 and #3, but you may have noticed the picture I posted of my ring and a graduation picture my friend took of me if you follow my Instagram. I did manage to capture the little things in life and these were some of my favorites. You can see the rest of my 365 project here. By the way, I just realized that I made it to the halfway mark for 2013 without missing a day. I am super proud of myself for actually keeping up with this project!

These Urbanears were a steal for only $15 from Urban Outfitters!
Yummy almond croissants from Trader Joe's
The Houston Zoo now has life size Lego animals on exhibit. Rawr!
One of my favorite statues/sculptures downtown
Took a quick picture on the way to the Sam Houston National Forrest
One of the outfits I wore
The outside walls of a public restroom in Galveston
My first morning view as a newly engaged woman! :) :) :)
Taken on one of our walks. These sculptures look really cool at night when they're all lit up.
The outside of Exxopolis. I blogged more about that here.

365 Project: April

Some of my favorite pictures that I took in April. You can see more here.

Victor's birthday was in April and I got him this book
Pretty umbrellas at the annual Japanese Festival
Walking to the park

Saw these guys play a show and it was awesome!
My favorite corner of the living room
Oversized shorts but they were only $5
 Victor's favorite pair of boots
Pretty spring flowers given to me
Caught an airplane flying over us
It looks like food but they are actually coasters! Got them from Target
I always make it a point to visit the red panda at the zoo. They are so cute!

April was a stressful month for me. I was constantly exhausted and busy with school, and had little time for much else, but I am happy so say that I just finished my last day ever of college yesterday and I graduate in 10 days! After almost two whole decades of going to school, it feels so weird knowing I don't have any assignments due and that I will never go to class ever again! I'll have to get used to having all this free time before I get a full time job. I plan on starting a jogging routine again to stay active, practicing and learning more about photography, blogging more, reading more books for fun, finally watching Game of Thrones (everyone keeps talking about how good it is!) spending time with friends that I've been neglecting, and just enjoying life as much as I can.

Japanese Festival

For the past four years we have gone to the Japanese Festival. It takes place once a year and it is in walking distance from our apartment, and I must say, it is an excellent place for people watching!
