Teacher friendly

I have a closet full of pretty clothes yet only a handful would be considered "teacher friendly". Most of my dresses and skirts fall above the knee, most of my tops are a tad too low or too short (crop tops), and most of my shoes are open-toed. I am going to be student teaching for the next two semesters so I have been trying to shop for more clothes that would be suitable for teaching. This means everything has to be at least knee length even when you sit down and nothing too loose or low on the chest area. The top can be loose but you have to wear a form fitting undershirt. Otherwise, your girls will make an appearance if you lean over or bend down and I don't want that! 

I'm kinda excited to start shopping for clothes I normally don't gravitate towards. I think this will allow me to start embracing my inner Betty Draper which I am not complaining about! Teachers are a little bit restricted in what they can wear but they can still be stylish too! 

I recently went shopping at my local Buffalo Exchange and kept wanting to grab short summery dresses. It was so hard not to with the humidity and heat. Short, sleeveless, breezy, cotton dresses is all I feel like wearing nowadays! Luckily, I stumbled upon this lovely dress. It is the perfect length and cut for teaching but it is also perfect for summer because it is sleeveless, breezy, cotton, AND it has pockets! I hardly actually use the pockets on dresses but I love having them anyway. It's maybe an inch too low in the chest area but I plan on sewing on an extra button or just wearing an undershirt with it. Other than that, I couldn't be happier with this dress! I love the color of the stripes and how it looks like they were painted onto the dress.
