Lady in red

This is definitely my new favorite skirt. I got it from the Salvation Army and it was HALF OFF which means I got it for a whopping $3.00! I live for deals like that! Well not really but I always get overly excited when it happens. Victor thinks I'm nuts when I jump for joy over cheap used clothing items that probably used to belong to a sweet little old lady but I don't care! Does anyone else share my joy and excitement?
This skirt was originally ankle length but I thought it would look better as a mid-length skirt so I sewed this baby right up with my handy dandy sewing machine. Again with wearing red! I never noticed how much I actually like wearing corals and reds until I started this blog. My new goal is to reach for other colors now that I am aware of my infatuation with wearing these colors all the time. They aren't even my favorite colors. In case you might be wondering, my favorite colors are mint green (hence Velveteen Mint), blues, and mustard yellow.

As I was uploading these pictures, I noticed that the print of my skirt blends in with my surroundings. Not the best photography decision but now I know to consider what I am wearing before picking a spot to take pictures and vice versa. I never would've thought of this before. I'm already learning from my mistakes!
I got this hat from Target for $1. Did I mention how excited I get over pretty much anything under $5? Maybe that's why I have that goofy smile on my face.
These pictures were taken at Hermann Park which is one of my favorite places to go in Houston. It's just so pretty and relaxing, and the Houston Zoo is right next to it. We pretty much go there at least once a week. You will definitely see more of this park in the future.

I just love these pictures of my hair. Who doesn't like whipping their hair in the wind? If you haven't tried it, you are missing out my friend.
