Work space

Our apartment has a second room that we almost never spend any time in. It consists of Victor's music stuff, instruments, amps, computer setup, and other random things while my half of the the room houses my bookshelf/desk combo. Oh and we also keep two dirty laundry hampers in there just cause. I always end up taking my laptop to the living room (my favorite room) because I don't like sitting at my desk. The second room gets good lighting and I have a cute comfortable chair to sit in but the room itself is just blah. It feels cluttery and generally uninviting and uninspiring. I've been thinking up ways I can spruce up the room a little to make it a place I actually want to spend time in. I have been having major room envy for these awesome work spaces and they have given me some good ideas I can work with in my own home without spending too much money.

Now Never

I love love LOVE looking at and buying office/school supplies. There is just something so nice about the look, feel, and even the smell of brand new supplies. August is the best month for this obsession of mine because all the stores put out their special sections of back-to-school supplies. Target is my favorite store to visit during this time! The problem is that I collect all these cute notebooks but I don't like to write in them because I think they are too cute to write in! So for now, I will just settle for ohhhing and ahhhing without actually buying.

I recently stumbled upon this website called nownever.bigcartel.com and I literally want one of EVERYTHING they have to offer! All of their products are very well designed and come in gorgeous colors. It was really hard to choose my favorites but here is a tiny handful my most coveted items.

Lolita Lempicka

When I think of perfume campaigns, I picture a beautiful woman emitting high levels of sex appeal while an equally handsome young man is drawn to the woman after he catches a slight whiff of her perfume. I don't know about you, but none of those fragrance campaigns have actually tempted me to go and purchase the product. I can't say the same for the newest fragrance from Lolita Lempicka. I have no idea what it smells like, but watching this video makes me curious. I imagine it smells like the pixie dust of a magical fairy living in an enchanted forest. This campaign, featuring the lovely Elle Fanning, is truly unique and absolutely dreamy. The cinematography is just amazing!

Collages by Ashlie Chavez

It has been gloomy and rainy nonstop for almost a week now and I am actually enjoying it. If it weren't for the rain, it would be close to 100 degrees but it has been in the cool 70's. It's been nice to just stay in, snuggle up on the couch catching up with tv shows, surfing the internet, trying  out new recipes, reading blogs, and falling asleep to the soothing sound of rain and thunder. It's also been fun stepping jumping in puddles with my rain boots that I never get to wear!

Since it's been so gloomy and I've been too lazy to wear anything but running shorts and tank tops, I thought I would share these amazing collages that I've been admiring by Ashlie Chavez. I stumbled upon Ashlie's photography work on Tumblr but have since become a fan of her collage work. I love how she mixes black and white pictures with colored pictures and how she incorporates pictures of nature, houses, animals, and people. She makes it look so effortless. Her collages have a vintage feel to them and I think she even gathers some of her cut outs from vintage magazines. These are some of my favorites. If you want to see more of Ashlie's work click here.
